Hi Simon,

I apologize, but the issue no longer reproduces.

I have prepared a sample project to upload here. It is the Peripheral UART of SDK V2.9.0.
However, I was able to communicate successfully with both pin assignments for uart21 and uart30.

I have also been able to use P0.0 and P0.1 in our custom project.

I’m sorry for the trouble caused.

I would assume the visual editor should show any taken pins, so this seems strange. Can you upload a version of your project where this is reproducible as well as share what version of the nRF Connect SDK you're working on so I can try and reproduce this on my end?

Yes.
I thought that if P0.00-P0.03 are already used by 'Serial Port 0', they would be displayed in the Editor, but am I mistaken?

I pressed the 'Show Visual Editor' button in my overlay file.
What could be the suspicious point?

I'm not sure I understand the question here I'm afraid. Do you mean that serial port 1 pops up with used pins in the Visual editor while the serial port 0 pins does not? If so, how did you open the Visual editor exactly?

Worth noting as well: One of my colleagues also made this unofficial nRF54L15 Pin Planner that should help users to find available pins for use here: https://hlord2000.github.io/ Please note that it's not official from Nordic, so it's not been verified by our test team and should be used at your own discretion.

I apologize, but may I confirm something?

The Devicetree Visual Editor in VS Code does not display the assignment for 'Serial Port 0'. Is that how it is supposed to be?

uart30' is a definition I specified in the overlay file.
For example, when there is a conflict in pin assignments like with P0.00, all the assignments are displayed for the pin.
'Serial Port 1' (P1.04-P1.07) is displayed as 'uart20', but 'Serial Port 0' is not shown.

By default the pins P0.00-P0.03 are connected to the IMCU on the nRF54L15 DK and are used for UART logging already as the "nRF54L15 UART_0 - Serial Port 0", so these are probably already defined which is likely why you're not able to use them yourself like this.
