I have encountered this problem many times. Lets consider an example so that you understand; C:\oraclxe\app\oracle\diag\tnslr\user\listener\me.txt, In this "me" file will not be counted as 2 character but will be counted as number of characters in the path name. Its because the windows API has MAX_LENGTH of 255 characters only. To solve this you can try GS Richcopy 360. I am currently using this software and it has worked for me and my enterprise to solve all our problems related to file copying. Try it, it helps.

I have recently used a program called Long Path Tool & i am so happy with the results that this particular program does. Long Path Tool did the job for me within a very short period of time. So no need to google each problem, just grab the program called Long Path Tool.

I am getting this same issue, i guess the best thing to do is to use a third party app like Long Path Tool. Just download it and use it to solve this issue. I hope this would help.

Surely, pathname length restrictions apply to all versions of windows - not just "latest".

I find that Eclipse-based tools are particularly prone to generate excessively-long paths

:-(

Are these "Long Path Tool" posts for real, or just spam? A fuller explanation of how, exactly, the tool helped would be more convincing.

Use Long Path Tool, Long Path Tool can simplify and probably end your problems in unlocking, managing and renaming files that appear to have a long filename.

You can use a third party software to bypass long path errors. I’d recommend you to try Long Path Tool. It was very helpful for me.

Hi,

Unfortunately this is an error that stems from very long path names, and the latest version of Windows. We are working on a solution.

In the meantime you can extract the SDK using 7-zip, this solves the issue with long path names because of the way 7-zip deals with path lenghts.

what is the complete path where you installed the SDK? have you considered moving the SDK to make the path shorter?
