Thank you for you help. with NCS v2.9.1 it works.
And I found out why it didn't work with NCS v2.6.0, to activate USB mode in v2.6.0 the command Is different than in v2.9.1. The correct command is the following.

-DCONFIG_DTM_USB=y

Yes I connected the nRF USB port. And my USB cable is good. I flashed my DK with the cdc_acm sample and I was able to see the USB serial device.

Do you also connect the nRF USB port (J3) to the PC? Also, make sure the USB cable can work and transmit data.

Hi,

I followed the same instructions but it's not working on my side. I'm not able to see the USB serial device of the nRF5340DK

Can you please advise on how to debug?

Hi,

I use the command provided by the Bluetooth: Direct Test Mode/USB CDC ACM transport variant to build, and select the USB serial device of nRF5340DK in the Direct Test Mode app to test with nRF52840DK programmed with FW for the Direct Test Mode app. It can work both as the receiver or Transmitter in Single and Sweep mode.

I'm sorry but I don't understand your comment.

On the Direct Test Mode app page, it clearly states:

The application also supports third-party devices that are programmed with 
the DTM standard protocol and expose access to it through a serial port.

And on the Bluetooth: Direct Test Mode/Requirements, it clearly lists the nRF53DK.

And I did the test with the nRF53DK in UART mode and it works fine.

I'm having issues with the USB CDC version of the firmware as described in the same page

Bluetooth: Direct Test Mode/USB CDC ACM transport variant

I built the firmware using the option -DFILE_SUFFIX=usb but I'm not able to see the CDC COM port in the Direct Test Mode app.

Hi,

It needs another DK like nRF52DK/nRF52840 DK/nRF52833DK to run the FW for the Direct Test Mode app. See the Bluetooth: Direct Test Mode/Requirements.
