I also don't think so, therefore the question about the SIM seems for me to point into the wrong direction.

One "secret" about the MNVO' SIM and coverage map is simple: they usually don't mention the MNO(s) they have subscribed. Not sure, which networks are at your location, but sometimes it may be the wrong, even if it's in a "covered country".

May I ask one question:

Why did you flash the Thingy:91X?

The brochure says:

[1] insert Sim

[2] enable device

[3] check the web site

(OK, they forgot [2.5] wait for the network.)

I don't think so, when I used the SIMs that couldn't connect, I got the proper rejection cause. (14, if I recall correctly)

I'll try the factory reset, but first I'll have to get the proper connector and borrow a demo kit. Thanks for the suggestion

Hi Michal,

I'm using a SIM from Things Mobile. If I check the network registration status with CEREG, this is what I get:

at AT+CEREG?
+CEREG: 5,5,"5A24","0091560B",7,,,"00100010","11100000"
OK

So it is connected using LTE cat M1.

Yeah, I've noticed that Conexa/Wireless Logic should work here, yet when I try it can't even register to the network. Maybe the SIM is just not active to work here.

The app shows a 4.01 (UNAUTHORIZED). For me this looks more like the CoAP response code from the server. Or does the app translate failed network registrations into CoAP response codes?

Anyway, though I'm pretty sure, that it works not only in my experience "out of the box" (without flashing), it may be a chance to apply Thingy:91X factory reset .

That's weird, the Conexa/Wireless Logic SIM should have connectivity in Italy according to their website, while Onomondo does not, that is correct.

Though coverage may vary inside the country of course.

Can you tell me which SIM card did you get from which local operator? Sometimes operators sell IoT cards that don't support LTE-M or NB-IoT.

In my experience (south Germany, order at digikey, Thingy:91X v1.0.0) it works "out of the box" even without flashing.
