I see. So the board you are using are trying to use pyocd, which is openOCD, and this is not supported by us. I wouldn't recommend using this for a production grade product, but according to the log, you seem to be missing libusb. See if you can install that, and whether you will be able to flash.

I recommend that you get hold of an official Segger JLink debugger.

Alternatively, for testing, if you have a DK, you can use this for debugging. Our DKs have an on board debugger, and you can use this to program external boards as well.

If you want to go down the OpenOCD path, which is open source, you can try that, but it is not something we support.

As i tell you i am working on custom board and in building process, i build with nrf52832dk then try nrf52832mdk and also try nrf52832kbd, but in all facing fatal error.

I am using ARM v9 J-link debugger (JTAG+SWD) ISBN: WZL970X

okay, i am first time trying to flash code using VS code, till now i completed nrfSDK17.1.0 all example using segger Embedded Studio compiler, and in that there no issue of flashing and all.
first time this type of issue i facing in nrf connect for VS code SDK and VS compiler.

Please guide me for find and resolving issue, it is whether hardware side or code side.

What kind of board target are you building for? Are you building for nrf52dk/nrf52832, or are you using some custom board?

And what kind of debugger are you trying to use? Is it an external standalone debugger (if so, what type)? I don't recognize the serial number from our DKs.

How do you usually flash this board, when you were building using the nRF5 SDK for Mesh?

thanks for replay Edvin,
here i follow all steps for setup and successfully able to build mesh sample code, but every time facing issue in flashing process, and the issue is fatal error.

I try every type in build configuration i try mdk, kbd, dk of my nrf52832. still facing same issue.
now what can i do?

Hello,

If you have not moved around any of the files or folders in the SDK, the reason SES fails is probably one of the two:

1: The path is too long. Try unzipping the SDK in a location closer to C:\ . This is a compiler issue in Windows. The max length of the path length can't be longer than 250 characters.

2: It is looking for a file in the "normal" SDK. So if you are using nrf5 SDK for mesh v5.0.0, you need a normal nRF5_SDK_17.0.2_d674dde located in the same folder as your nrf5_sdk_for_mesh_v5.0.0_src.

Our VS Code plugin is intended for nRF Connect SDK (NCS), and not the nRF5 SDK (or nRF5 SDK for Mesh). If you installed and used VS Code with NCS for BLE, then you have everything you need to get going. There are some mesh samples located in ncs\nrf\samples\bluetooth\mesh.

If you have not set up NCS, then this is the SDK we recommend for new Bluetooth Mesh applications.
