When I plug it into the USB port, the device starts to blink but is not showing up as standard USB drive? Any suggestions?

If it persists then try to find manually driver in the list of available devices on your machine (assuming you are using Windows but you question would make little sense otherwise...;) and pick &amp;quot;mbed Composite Device&amp;quot;, this works for me on Win7.
