I already know my board IMEI (I got it by flashing the AT client sample and then using the AT+CGSN command from LTE link monitor), but I am having trouble with

RE: Adding Actinius Icarus nRF9160 as LTE device in nRF cloud

Thank you!

The Asset Tracker v2 application (which is removed in version 3.0.0 of nRF Connect SDK) does have support for AWS. Have a look at the the supported cloud services table in the documentation.

While I couldn't register my device in nRF cloud, I found the application_update sample, which uses an AWS server instead. The sample works well on my Actinius Icarus, do you think it would be possible to integrate it with the Asset Tracker so I don't have to use nrf Cloud? Or am I missing some restriction?

RE: Adding Actinius Icarus nRF9160 as LTE device in nRF cloud

Hello, the ticket you are referring to: Registering a 3rd Party Board(Actinius Icarus) to Nrf Cloud is over 4 years old. There have been several upgrades and improvements since then.

The PIN/HWID is provided in production of our nRF9160DK and other Nordic HW. As the Actinius Icarus IoT board is not designed by Nordic it will therefor not have the correct information or certificates to connect to nRF Cloud. You will need to follow steps for generating credentials provided in the nRF Cloud documentation.
