Oh, you are using the nRF5 SDK, and not the nRF Connect SDK (NCS), based on the API that you mention, sd_...().

That is fine. Shouldn't make a difference.

Yes, there are some options that you can use to automatically start scanning after a disconnect event, if I recall correctly.

I already found the sd_ble_gap_disconnect function, which seems to do the job. At this point I pretty much have the Dongle firmware working as I need it to; now I need to get my GUI to play nice with it.

Have you tried calling the start scan API again? If it doesn't work, what does that function return?
