Maybe you can try to still build from the command line, but the extension will not provide the same level of integration or automation as before. So it's better to migrate to the sysbuild.

Hi,

The VS Code extension is designed to work with the current build system (using the sysbuild).

Since the old child/parent image mechanism is no longer supported in v3.0.2, the extension will not recognize or properly handle build configurations that do not use sysbuild for multi-image projects, which is why your manually generated build folders are no longer automatically discovered by the extension.

I would suggest you to migrate your build setup to use sysbuild, because then you will get the full VS Code extension support for build configuration discovery and management.
