&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;m afraid the&amp;nbsp;DTM application in nRF Connect for Desktop doesn&amp;#39;t support using the nRF21540. See the answer in &lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/115912/nrf-connect-direct-test-mode-app-v2-4-1-support-for-nrf21540-fem-gain-settings"&gt;this ticket&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It is, however, possible to use the&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-3.0.2/page/nrf/samples/bluetooth/direct_test_mode/README.html"&gt;Bluetooth: Direct Test Mode&lt;/a&gt; sample without the nRF Connect for Desktop application.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;On the other hand, if they want to certify a custom board, the &lt;a href="https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-3.0.2/page/nrf/samples/peripheral/radio_test/README.html"&gt;Radio test (short-range)&lt;/a&gt; sample might be a better option.&lt;/p&gt;
