Yes, you can use the nRF5 SDK with S140. You can also use the nRF Connect SDK. Both SDKs support the improved protection features, provided your hardware is a newer revision.

As for the example, do you mean an example to study the APPROTECT feature.? In that case, there is no specific "example project" solely for APPROTECT, but the Nordic blog post on improved APPROTECT provides code snippets and step-by-step instructions for both nRF5 SDK and nRF Connect SDK.

Hello,

For newer revisions (rev 3 and above), APPROTECT is enabled by default in the hardware, and unlocking the device for debugging requires an ERASEALL, which also erases the code.
