I appreciate the response, FYI the resolution was ordering another identical dev kit which worked.

That is strange. One thing to verify first at this moment, is that the USB cable support data transfer and not being a charge only cable.

Here is my nRF52840DK v3.0.0 connected to my Macbook Air M2

I believe I did stall Segger Jlink and no USB devices are listed while the kit is plugged in

Have you installed Segger JLink on your Mac? Does the development kit list in e.g. System Information under USB devices?
