From the captures, the team can see below

2.4G: Probe response received but no Authentication frame seen OTA
5G: Probe request itself is not seen (and possibly never sent out hence no probe response)

I would recommend you to use Radio test using VSA to characterize the TX. Please see https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-latest/page/nrf/samples/wifi/radio_test/multi_domain/testing.html

I apologize. I see that my previous file overview had the faulty and working devices mixed up. Here is the corrected version:

Sniffer results for the faulty device (WLAN MAC: 00:18:07:01:6E:76):
1. Snif on channel 1 while doing active wifi scan
2. Snif on channel 1 while connecting to channel 1
3. Snif on channel 44 while doing active wifi scan
4. Snif on channel 44 while connecting to channel 44

Sniffer results for the working device (WLAN MAC: 00:18:07:01:69:0E):
5. Snif on channel 1 while doing active wifi scan
6. Snif on channel 1 while connecting to channel 1
7. Snif on channel 44 while doing active wifi scan
8. Snif on channel 44 while connecting to channel 44

Hi,

Before we analyse the logs, can you please confirm if the MAC address are correct? For e.g., in working device captures from 1-4, I see frames with wlan.addr == 00:18:07:01:6E:76 but this MAC is noted as a not working one? And 5--8 I see the working MAC address?

Hello Amanda,

The device that works has MAC: 00:18:07:01:69:0E
The device that doesnt work has MAC: 00:18:07:01:6E:76

The WIFI i'm connecting to is using (channel 1: 2.4GHz) and (channel 44: 5GHz)

I have done following tests while sniffing the wifi:

For working device:
(file names endig with success)

1. Snif on channel 1 while doing active wifi scan
2. Snif on channel 1 while connecting to channel 1
3. Snif on channel 44 while doing active wifi scan
4. Snif on channel 44 while connecting to channel 44

For device with the error:
(file names endig with fail)

5. Snif on channel 1 while doing active wifi scan
6. Snif on channel 1 while connecting to channel 1
7. Snif on channel 44 while doing active wifi scan
8. Snif on channel 44 while connecting to channel 44

The wifi scan seems to work on both devices but wifi connect gives the following console log from the bad device:

Connection requested
[00:00:45.875,701] <inf> wpa_supp: wlan0: SME: Trying to authenticate with 8a:2a:a8:4b:a5:80 (SSID='MoveDevices' freq=5220 MHz)
[00:00:50.880,462] <inf> wpa_supp: wlan0: Added BSSID 8a:2a:a8:4b:a5:80 into ignore list, ignoring for 10 seconds

Here is have enabled the following logs:

CONFIG_WIFI_LOG_LEVEL_DBG=y
CONFIG_NET_IF_LOG_LEVEL_DBG=y
CONFIG_WIFI_NRF70_LOG_LEVEL_DBG=y
CONFIG_NET_MGMT_EVENT_LOG_LEVEL_DBG=y

and run wifi connect and wifi statistics and saved the log in the following txt file.

Hi,

Can you share some sniffer captures during Wi-Fi scan and connect? Please provide sniffer logs for both 2.4G and 5G bands, as well as success and failure cases.
