&lt;p&gt;Good to see you&amp;nbsp;have identified the problem already. The reason it&amp;#39;s not working with TIMER0 is that this instance is reserved the Bluetooth stack (or other wireless stack) (&lt;a href="https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-3.0.0/page/nrfxlib/mpsl/doc/mpsl.html"&gt;https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-3.0.0/page/nrfxlib/mpsl/doc/mpsl.html&lt;/a&gt;). It&amp;#39;s difficult to catch this resource conflict at build time when using the low level drivers directly, unfortunately. It&amp;#39;s only this timer instance that&amp;#39;s not available.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The system timer (k_timer_init,..) is running of the RTC (32KHz) to&amp;nbsp;provide low power operation.&lt;/p&gt;
