&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;The RTC is very low power and does not require hundreds of microamps to operate. The 418 µA figure you referenced is for the TIMER peripheral, not the RTC. The RTC is the recommended low-power timer for such applications, and it is used in most low-power designs for periodic wakeup :&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ps_nrf52840/page/rtc.html"&gt;https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ps_nrf52840/page/rtc.html&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;THe nRF54L series is also one of the latest SoC which offers&amp;nbsp;even lower power and more advanced sleep management.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
