This has to do with the JLink install indeed. After few un-install / re-install, the devkit is being connected now!

Do you have any other Nordic dk to check to see if you get same MCU boot error ? I think it is still related to J-link issue not being detected.

Do you have nrfutil installed ? can you try with command line the recover command: nrfutil device recover

If you don't have nrfutil installed, please get it from here: nRF Util - nordicsemi.com , then place the executable file in a folder and add the folder address to your system's path. Then restart your system, after that you should be able to use it through windows command line.

Affirmative. I did reboot the PC, VS Code, and nRF Connect for Desktop.

I just did reboot the PC again again and the problem still persists.

Can we please just focus on fixing the issue with the nRF Connect for Desktop.

I need a way to program my nRF9151DK devkit

After installing and updating the system's PATH environment variable, have you tried to reboot the PC not just VS Code? It seems the issue (no operation possible) is still related to SEGGER issue that is not detected.

Thanks for the additional feedback

I did install a later JLink version v8.58 (JLink_Windows_V858_x86_64)

making sure the required checkbox is checked

updated my environment variables with the associated installation folder

rebooted VS Code, but still cannot enumerate the nRF9151DK

I also get this error from the nRF Connect for Desktop v5.2.0 when trying to open the Programmer APP

Somehow it is not able to see that the JLink has been upgraded

Let me know if I am missing something else...

Please follow the steps for installing nRF Connect SDK and VS Code from dev academy / SDK Fundamentals course / Lesson 1 and let me if it does not work (Exercise 1 - Installing nRF Connect SDK and VS Code - Nordic Developer Academy):

The box that need to be checked during installation and mentioned by Jörg is indicated in above picture.

Careful with the Segger JLink installation, you actually have to tick a box there and cannot just blindly click next in 8.x versions. Also try the latest JLink version from Segger.com website.

Upgraded all the Desktop APPS now

They show up with a yellow warning triangle! Not sure if that provides some sort of hint about the root cause?
