I see. Could you try the latest release of Master Control Panel? 3.10.0? It is available here.

Poking around in System32, I notice that the drive file with version 2.6.8.1 is jlink.inf. The jlink.inf in SEGGER\JLink_V510m is also version 2.6.8.1, so it looks like I have been replacing the J-Link driver with an exact copy.

Yes, I have tried uninstalling (and deleting in the process) the older driver, then running the command line tools installation. It's still claiming version 2.6.8.1.

Hi Petter, thanks for answering. Unfortunately, my J-Link driver is still showing version 2.6.8.1 after installation of nRF5x-Command-Line-Tools version 8.3.0. I was not given the choice of switching the driver for the PCA10031 during JLink driver installation. When I try to update device driver by pointing at the SEGGER/JLink_V510m folder, Windows claims my device drivers are already up to date.

Seems you have an pretty old J-Link driver. Please try to install nRF5x-Command-Line-Tools-Win32 from here.
