The issue was my file named board.yaml instead of board.yml. The rest of my issues I'll track in my other ticket

Yes, that is in the command and is valid. Note v3.0.2 works if I name the folder "arm" instead of "nordic", but v3.1.0 errors even in that case with the headers not found.

Hi,

Do you get the same problem if you set the BOARD_ROOT in the build command? For, example:

west build -b myboard -- -DBOARD_ROOT=<board_root_path>

Or in VS Code:

Make sure that the path is to the folder with the boards folder. So, if you have C:/nordic/boards/company/myboard, the BOARD_ROOT will be C:/nordic.
