Hi Doug,

If you are using 16kB Ram variant, you should modify the RAM setting to match. The examples in the SDK was configured for 32kB RAM variant. You can have a look here

I also checked that the starting ROM address of the bootloader is set to 0x3C000 in the project settings, and that the value of the UICR.BOOTLOADERADDR register at memory location 0x10001014 is set to 0x0003C000 and it is set correctly on my target.

Yes, but I don't really know why they would be any different when running the bootloader example project on my target. My target nRF51822QFAA has 256K ROM and 16K RAM, so I was assuming the settings for the DFU example project would be compatible. Is that not true?

Did you check the rom / ram areas setting?
