Oh man, I could resolve the issue with ChatGPTs expertise - the nrf Cloud evaluation key stored in Coiote was older then 30 days... Thats a thing which could go into the FAQs...

I tried 2 different locations (home and office), 2 SIM cards (Onomondo, Swisscom), both connected to coiote backend via LTE-M - no cell based localisation working.

My setup: nRF9151 DK, SDK v3.0.2, Ubuntu 24.04. I built the lwm2m_client sample using the same overlays you mentioned in your first message, and tested with two SIM cards from different operators. The sample also works correctly on the nRF9161 DK. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to a Windows 11 PC to test further.

thanks for testing. Could you please elaborate a little bit more about your setup and environment as a lot of things are not working as expected on fresh Windows 11 installations like debugging etc.pp.

Hi,

I tested the lwm2m_client sample using your configuration. When I triggered a location update by pressing Button 2, the cellular location was successfully updated on AVSystem’s Coiote server.
