Hey Jason, I rolled back nRF Connect for VS Code Extension Pack from 2025.4.4 to 2024.9.5 and my lovely pristine build is back. All the other extensions remain the latest version. Meaning the nRF Conect for VS Code is 2025.9.732. Thank you so much.

Yes that fixed it. Thanks!

I noticed it shows -DNCS_TOOLCHAIN_VERSION="NONE"

But my build still works.

I set this to v2.6.0 in the wizard. I rolled back to the other version but it still shows the same. So this is not new.

And the build uses the 2.6.0 toolchain (cf2149caf2 = 2.6.0)

I had the same problem just now;

C:\Repos\... interpreted with invalid \r

Now it can compile again with 2025.9.732
