As you know, it is either the phone or the nRF51 device that disconnects the link. If you run the nRF51 in debug mode you can set a breakpoint on sd_ble_gap_disconnect(..) and the event BLE_GAP_EVT_DISCONNECTED. If the code hits sd_ble_gap_disconnect(..), it is the nRF51 that is disconnecting, and if the code hits BLE_GAP_EVT_DISCONNECTED, it is the phone that is disconnecting.

Okay, I see. Yes, you will need two nRF51 boards to use the sniffer..

Thank for your reply but for running sniffer i need two boards right? i am having only one Nrf51DB and if i want to run the sniffer i have erase the DB and then load the sniffer .hex file so how can i check the advertsing of my own software

The only firmware you need to run the sniffer is the sniffer hex file. The sniffer will be controlled using the .exe file. I will recommend you to take a look at the user guide that comes with the sniffer.

how it can start scanning for devices after i erase the chip and load only the sniffer.hex file no more software will be on the develoment kit and then how it become possible to use sniffer without reloadind thesoftware in the DK could you give some more informations about sniffer and DK software

It is correct that all LEDs will be turned on after programming the hex file. Did you run ble-sniffer_win_1.0.1_1111_Sniffer.exe? When launching ble-sniffer_win_1.0.1_1111_Sniffer.exe, it will immediately start to scan for devices, see chapter 2.1 in the sniffer user guide.

yes i tried to use the sniffer when i load the snifffer hex file all the led in the NRF51DK turned on seems like nothing working i followed the procedure based on the document but after loading sniffer.hex file it makes alll led turned on after that i cannot able to see any kind of function working

Okay, I see. It doesn't show which device that initiated the disconnection.

Could you use the sniffer to find out which device that disconnects the link?

Hello sorry for my delayed reply i have attached the MCP log window please have a look and let me knwo if you have some ideas why this is haappenign for all the examples due to software or MCP app have some issues with the password

1) It would be very useful if you could upload a sniffer trace.

2) After the disconnect, what does the MCP log show? You can see the log by swiping to the right in MCP.

Am using Android phone MCP as central i used to enter the password in the MCP if i enter corretly then it will gets connected unknowingly if i enter wrong password it gets disconnected automatically actually i tested with the ble_grs (glucose example also) if we enter correct password it remains conencted but wrong password immediately disconnected

Which device do you use as central?
