Unchecking the "Erase application settings" on the mobile app has got things working.

I kept the same static partition that is in the sample.

I'm away for a couple of days now but I will check everything on my return, thanks for your help so far.

It's not just that it needs to commission again. The mobile app doesn't complete the verification (ie. no transfer complete message) and the image on the DK always fails to commission. It is the updated application but I think it is either incomplete of corrupted. I will look at the app checkbox.

Do you see that the application is updated? If the issue is only with the need to commission the device again, did you select the checkbox in the Mobile App that clears the Settings partition? This should be unchecked. See this post.
