Please show me a tutorial that uses the devicetree GUI only...... What is the point of the GUI if i cannot use this for what it is supposed to be there for ?

in this tutorial lesson-3-adding-custom-board-support it does everything manually, i asked above about using the devicetree visual editor ?

I'm not sure if you saw it, but I linked to the Creating board files section of the nRF Connect SDK Intermediate course earlier. The screenshot you posted shows that your DTS file contains many errors. Please switch to the text editor view to see the errors underlined in red.

The files are still there its like all they dont linkup together anymore.

What i really need is a detail tutorial on how to create a new board from the beginning, this way i will learn how to do this correctly :-)

Was it just the UI window that disappeared, or did your work in the DTS file disappear as well? There should be a warning like this if you attempt to close editor without saving:

So ive just started creating using devicetree visual editor...... Spent the best part of 90mins on this and then its just disapeared.....

How can you have tools in this day and age that perform like this.....

Your above comment is not great testament to devicetree visual editor, does this actually work ? because so far its wasted 90mins of my time.

Hello,

The board generator will create the required board files and populate most of their content to give a starting point for assigning the pinout, selecting clock sources, etc (Creating board files). The clock node in the devicetree must be enabled explicitly as done here: https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-zephyr/blob/7d3bd3993600d433ab0653391aee2fa2b4ce3fda/boards/nordic/nrf54l15dk/nrf54l_05_10_15_cpuapp_common.dtsi#L100. If your board includes a 32K crystal, then you may also need to configure the load capacitance here: https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-zephyr/blob/7d3bd3993600d433ab0653391aee2fa2b4ce3fda/boards/nordic/nrf54l15dk/nrf54l_05_10_15_cpuapp_common.dtsi#L36
