I am facing issue in reading the eDRX mode configurations using AT Commands on nRF9160. Below are the details of hardware & modem fw version.
1. Modem FW version: nrf9160 version mfw_nrf9160_1.3.5

Issue:
I used the AT command "AT+CEDRXS

RE: Unable to read already set configuration of eDRX mode using AT Command

Try increasing the eDRX interval, and also make sure UART is not running (CONFIG_SERIAL=n).

RE: Unable to read already set configuration of eDRX mode using AT Command

Hello Nordic team,

I have enabled eDRX on my nRF9160 modem device, and the network has successfully negotiated the eDRX parameters. However, I am not observing any noticeable difference in power consumption after entering eDRX mode.
The measured current remains around 110 µA:

In normal mode and Even after eDRX is enabled

Details:

eDRX command used:
AT+CEDRXS=1,4,"0001"

Network response:
+CEDRXS: 4,"0001","001","0001"
OK

Note:Energy harvesting circuit and battery are both connected.

Is entering PSM mandatory to see a current drop? currently we are using only edrx mode

Thanks for your reply.

Below is the attached snap which shows modem power consumption spikes in eDRX mode. Also, we get the successful response as OK and values for the following AT Commands.
"AT+CEDRXS?"

"AT+CEDRXRDP"

Meaning. I am able to set the eDRX mode, but I cannot see the actual power consumption happening with and without eDRX mode.
Following are the current consumption values:

1. Without eDRX mode: 19.7 mA

2. With eDRX mode: ~19 mA

Can you please let us know about the power consumption when eDRX mode is activated.

Thanks,

have you confirmed that the network will allow the device to enter eDRX? Also, in that regard a modem trace should show what is actually happening in the network.
