I see that I accidentally selected the "for RISC-V" version. Now that I downloaded and installed the "for ARM" version I see that the license is carried over. For now all seems in order and running, so thank you for the support.

I already had v5.68 installed with an active license, then I installed v4.10a (since v4.10b no longer appears to be available for download) to see if I could reproduce this. But in my case the license carried over automatically and I didn’t need to reactivate it.

Do you have the same "for ARM" edition here:

After installing v.8 I was able to add the license key. But when i open v.4 it still claims that the evaluation period is expired. v.4 also doesn't display the license when i press "Manage Activations", so it seems that licenses don't cross over.

Try installing the latest and activet the license and then open the old version as that should hopefully not complain anymore. You can't activate the licence with the old version due to SEGGER policy but the licence is valid for older versions as well (or used to be).

no, I simply installed SES v8 and other versions to see if things were working. And uninstalled them if they showed errors.

Did you install the license key for the new version? That used to cover the old versions as well

I went back to 4.10b which doesn't strait up give errors at first, but I now get the error message that the evaluation period is expired. And when applying the license key on Tools > License manager > Activate Embedded Studio I seem to be unable to press the 'Install License' button after pasting the license.

Hello,

I don't recall seeing this exact issue, but since SES v.8 is not compatible with this SDK due to changes in the standard libraries and toolchain anyway, I would recommend downgrading your SES version to version 5, which was the last version available at the time of this SDK release, and see if that fixes it.
