I think the problem might be that I am running Windows 7 on a virtual machine, because I am able to see "Start" message from the UART example when I connect the CDC port on a host machine running Windows7.

RE: NRF Sniffer nRF51422 (PCA10028) support

Yes, 4 LEDs is on. And it works just fine on my desk. You can try to unplug and plug it back after 5 seconds when the Sniffer console is looking for the COM port.

You can also try to test if the UART is working properly by a simple UART example from the SDK.

RE: NRF Sniffer nRF51422 (PCA10028) support

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I have segger JLink v5.10 install on a Window 7 machine. I tried to press "f" key in the Sniffer console to preset the COM port and it still couldn't find any port. After you flashed the sniffer FW on your board what is the state of the 4 LEDs on your NRF board? I am seeing 4 LEDs is always ON, I suspect the FW is hanging on my board.

RE: NRF Sniffer nRF51422 (PCA10028) support

Hi,

I have you tried to erase the preset COM port on the sniffer console (pressing f) ? I used PCA10028 and it worked fine as a sniffer. Make sure you update the segger Jlink to the latest version also.
