&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Adding &lt;code data-start="113" data-end="130"&gt;CONFIG_SERIAL=n&lt;/code&gt; in &lt;code data-start="134" data-end="148"&gt;mcuboot.conf&lt;/code&gt; resolved both issues. Even though the boot banner was disabled, the UART remained active in MCUboot, which was causing the problem. It may have pulled dts or config settings that you were not aware off.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Note that mcuboot does not see anything you set in application prj.conf file - so it very likely has boot banners still enabled.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
