Just a quick update. One of the errors which you are receiving shows an issue with connecting to the network. Which sim card are you using? If you have recently started using the nRF9160 DK and want to learn the basics, I would also recommend you to go through the Cellular IoT Fundamentals DevAcademy course which goes through the essentials about application development and LTE-M, NB-IoT etc.

hi samruddhi,

i think i successfully add the at client file in programmer and add the LTE-M connection so i sent you a screenshot about a cellular monitor application but i don't know, is this information showing correct? and what's that error showing me in bottom of the screenshot.

Before programming make sure that the PROG/DEBUG switch is set correctly. On the new boards, this should be SW10 and on the older ones it is SW5. So, the basic steps I would recommend checking here is make sure the DK is on, usb is connected, PROG/DEBUG is set to nRF91.

Another way is to use Programmer with a prebuilt sample. First, install the latest nRF9160 DK firmware zip from the nRF9160 DK download page. When you extract the zip, you will see it contains AT client, Modem Shell etc. which are prebuilt applications. Then, open nRF Connect Desktop and Programmer. Ensure that the PROG/DEBUG is set to nRF91. After that in Select device, you can select your nRF9160 DK. In add file, go to browse, navigate into the extracted firmware folder and choose a .hex file for the AT client sample. You can then click Erase&Write and this will program the DK.

If you are still having issues, it would be great if you could please share a screenshot of the Quick Start "Program" step and I can provide more guidance.

Best Regards,

thanks for your help but i can't see sample application in the program step.

RE: nrf9160 up and running

Hi,

First you have to install some basic tools such as nRF Connect for Desktop. This you can download from our nRF9160 DK page. From here, I would also suggest you to install nRF Command Line tools for later use. Make sure that on the DK, the power switch is turned on and plug the DK into your PC with a USB cable. Ensure that PROG/DEBUG SW10 switch is set to nRF91 if you want to program it. After starting the nRF Connect for Desktop, you can open the Quick Start app and you should see the nRF9160 DK appear in the list. You can select it. Then, in Quick Start, you will see the board's information. In the Program step, choose a sample application and select Program to Flash. This should now erase and program the DK and also verify it. For the next steps, I would recommend taking a look at our guide on getting started with nRF9160 DK.

Let me know if you have any further questions about the steps or anything else and I can try to explain more in detail.

Best Regards,
