I am currently working with Bluetooth LE Audio using the nRF Connect SDK and Nordic hardware (e.g., nRF5340 platform). I would like to better understand device compatibility when testing LE Audio features.

Sorry. We don't maintain a list of supported phones, but I believe the list is growing quite fast. According to chatgpt, these are the current phones that are supported (but it may not be 100% accurate):

Some newer flagship phones from other manufacturers have also started shipping with LE Audio support depending on chipset and Android version, for example:

Xiaomi 15

Xiaomi 15 Ultra

Poco F7 Ultra

Sony Xperia 1 VII

These usually rely on Snapdragon 8-series chipsets with Bluetooth 5.2+ and Android 14+.

Important notes

LE Audio requires Bluetooth 5.2 or newer plus software support.

Some phones only support Auracast receiving, not full LE Audio streaming.

Adoption accelerated from 2023 onward, especially among flagship Android phones.

Both the phone and the audio device (earbuds/headphones) must support LE Audio for it to work.

✅ Rule of thumb:

Most Android flagships from 2023+ (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and newer) support LE Audio or will via updates.

I believe for devices confirmed to work with Nordic, we have done tests/demos with the Pixel 8 and 9 series, but I am not aware of any particular reason why these were used. Probably just what we had at hand at the time.

Just make sure that whatever you are looking into using has the support that you need. You can see that some of the ones from the list says "(Auracast listen only)". If that is what you intend to use, that is fine, but it doesn't offer full support of all LE Audio features.

Best regards,
