I'd kindly ask for some help regarding the Wi-Fi issue I am sometimes having on my 5340/7002 device. NCS v3.1.0 is used for the development. From time to time, Wi-Fi connection goes to a strange state which doesn't recover itself (Wi

RE: NRF5340 and NRF7002 Wi-Fi Hiccups

Hi Simonr,

thank you very much for the answer. Issue was seen on a custom HW design.
After your suggestion, we've done some external crystal measurements and detected slight drift on the HFXO. We were able to calibrate oscillator through DTS with internal load capacitors.

The bug itself is very hard to reproduce, but since this problem was your initial thought I'll be optimistic saying that it fully explains it. For now I'll verify your answer hoping that I won't need to reopen the topic 🙂.
Thanks once again for very quick and helpful response.

Best regards,
Patrik

RE: NRF5340 and NRF7002 Wi-Fi Hiccups

Hi

First off, are you working on an nRF7002 DK or a custom board with the nRF5340 and nRF7002 SoCs here? If you're seeing this on a custom board, can you also reproduce it on a development kit, or is it only seen on a custom HW design? If so, my initial guess would be that this is due to either of the external crystals on the nRF5340 or nRF7002 are drifting somewhat and causing these issues after staying on for a while.

Best regards,

Simon
