I do not see a way to solve this. I see you do not have an additional bootloader, to MCUBoot is immutable. And so the partition layout seen from MCUboot will always remain the same for devices in he field. If you were to place the settings partition anywhere in the application slot that will cause problems, as it will be part of the calculation when validating the image. If you had free space that was not currently used for application slots that could have been a possibility, but that does not seem to be the case.

RE: MCUBOOT Application preventing further dfu.

Hello, circling back on this issue. Is there an easy and builtin way to move the settings partition away from the end of flash that does not interfere with the image trailer?

RE: MCUBOOT Application preventing further dfu.

Hi,

I see the partition layout is changed, shrinking both application slots equally to be able to fit a settings region. Changing parition layout in the field is not recommended and will cause problems. In this case, MCUboot which is not updated will use the old partition layout. It is difficult to solve this in a good way for products out in the field (other than sticking with the old partition layout and not using settings).
