I was missing the overlay. I am able to get it to build and run from the

west build -p always -b ubx_bmd360eval/nrf52811 -- '-DOVERLAY_CONFIG=overlay-bt_ll_sw_split.conf' -DSNIPPET=bt-ll-sw-split

NOTE: That the default CONFIG_BT_CTLR_ADV_DATA_LEN_MAX for this device is 31, max is 191 it seems. I was able to make my AoA advertisement function and fit in memory for my application with

CONFIG_BT_CTLR_ADV_DATA_LEN_MAX=48

CONFIG_BT_BUF_ACL_TX_SIZE=48

Other config changes I from the sample I made were

CONFIG_BT_CTLR_DF_PER_ADV_CTE_NUM_MAX=1

And adding a ubx_bmd360eval_nrf52811.conf identical to the nrf52833dk_nrf52833.conf

Sounds odd.

Are you enabling overlay-bt_ll_sw_split.conf as well?

This should ofcourse work with this board, but do you have any other Nordic DKs on hand, just so we could compare with something that I happen to have on hand as well?

Elfving I am able to get the radio operating with an extended advertisement, by setting DF configs

CONFIG_BT_DF=n

CONFIG_BT_DF_CONNECTIONLESS_CTE_TX=n

CONFIG_BT_CTLR_DF=n

And changing main.c to NOT call

bt_df_set_adv_cte_tx_param()

bt_df_adv_cte_tx_enable()

Note that the nRF52833 is the only nRF device which has a Bluetooth qualification enabling Direction Finding so if you plan to certify your product then that is the only option.

Hi, and sorry about the mixed signals there.

So the '811 should support transmitting, but not receiving. I guess this is often simply referred to as it not supporting direction finding.

So I think you running the direction_finding_connectionless_tx sample project on it should work. I guess there could be something at fault with the boardfiles etc., are you able to get anything else to run that uses radio?
