I purchased my first nordic semiconductors device, the PPKII, from Farnell.

I just received it today and installed the required software (nRF Connect on macOS, and the recommended SEGGER J-Link version).

But unfortunately I am unable

RE: Unable to connect to Power Profiler Kit PPK2 - faulty hw?

Hello,

Farnell shipped me another PPK2, same issue.

So I tested my USB cables with another micro-USB device.

Turns out only one out of five “USB to micro-USB” cables I had was actually data-capable.

The 4 other cables were power-only.

Sorry it was my mistake.

One way to prevent it would be to ship PPK2 with an included micro-USB cable, or a USB-C connector.

RE: Unable to connect to Power Profiler Kit PPK2 - faulty hw?

Hi Alexandre,

Could you maybe try the following as well.?

Disconnect all other nordic devices from the computer, turn off the kit and remove it from the plastic by removing the four screws. Insert USB to J2 (USB DATA/POWER). Short a connection between GND (e.g on the four pin power output header) to TP34 on the PPK2. While holding the jumper cable, turn the kit on and remove the jumper. Now the PPK2 should be in bootloader again.

Open the PPK app, and select the device which is now just a serial number. When selecting it, the user will be prompted to program the application and it should now be working again.

Best Regards,

Swathy
