I havent had troubles with realterm, termite or Bry's Terminal, but I often forget to activate the DTR flag which stops the whole process. Some terminals do that themselves. Just fiddle around with the settings, and I guess you'll make it work.

I just set the flow control to disabled in the code and UART worked! Any idea why it doesn't work with flow control on?

You could try to reinnstall the Segger drivers, since that is controlling the virtual COM. You disable hwfc in firmware, main, UART init, set hwfc to false.

Yes, I tried SecureCRT as well and have the same issue. How do I turn off hwfc?

Could it be that something didn't install properly even though the device shows up as valid?

I have never had any trouble with this. Have you tried any other applications? Also, tey turning hwfc off in firmware, does that help?

Well the examples have uart in their code and not rtt. I set the flow control to RTS/CTS as the documentation says.

Are you sure the examples aren't using rtt? How about flow control? If using UART, I think all examples uses hwfc, hence you have to set RTS/CTS in putty or turn it off in the examples
