Sorry for the delay, your case slipped through.
Have you managed to install VS code successfully on on your system. I se you are using widiws II and have NCS v3.4 installed. I hope the installation was successful and you have got NCS up and running now.
To install Edge AI extension, you first need to create an Edge AI account on our webpage. Once you have logged in, you can then go to >> Create a new application in the welcome tab, then you will see the following options

The edge ai add-on falls under NRF SDK add on index- you select that and search for edge AI

Please let me know if this fasttracks your progress. Please get back to us if you have more questiosn on how to use the samples or create models on edge AI webpage. Also curious, are you planning to run your models on neuton (arm cortex m33) or Axon - our specialised NPU accelerator on nRF54LM20B?

Thank you Tomas. Presently trying to find edge AI to install. It doesn't come up in vs code extensions.

Could you tell me about your setup? I see the error is relating to the Edge AI add-on, but how did you go about adding this to your project?

Did everything to the point of adding a new build config. Here is the error:

[west]: FATAL ERROR: failed manifest import in sdk-edge-ai> (external/edge-ai>):
[west]:   Failed importing "west.yml" from revision "">github.com/.../sdk-edge-ai>"
[west]:   Hint: sdk-edge-ai> must be cloned, owned by the user and its manifest-rev ref must point to a commit with the import data
[west]:   To fix, run "west update. If it still fails, try "west -vv ..."

[west]: exited with code 1.

Hi again,

Do you have "CMake tools" from microsoft enabled as extension? If you do, can you try to disable it? Click on disable (workspace) as shown in the screenshot below. Close and reopen VScode, then remove all build folders under "d:\Active\firealarm\firealarm\". Then create the build configuration and build again.

Hi David,

I have noticed that you have been using two different toolchains. If you are building with nRF Connect SDK v3.3.0, the toolchain with the hash 936afb6332 is the correct one. The one you used earlier (dcbdc366a1) belongs to v3.4.0.

I am currently trying to reproduce the error on my end. In the meantime, could you check the build output in the nRF Connect terminal? Specifically, I would like to know whether you see a line beginning with "CMake Error at" and a "Call Stack (most recent call first):" block above the two lines you sent me. The image below shows what this looks like on my setup.

I found an issue with the build conf. Fixed it, but still getting this error:

The only message I have is the one saying: "Unable to build: SDK not found. Ensure that a valid SDK is used for the build configuration." I do not see any other logs. Please advise.

Hi David,

Could you send me the full log leading up to the crash, everything before the error message "Unable to build: SDK not found. Ensure that a valid SDK is used for the build configuration."? The log may show which path is being used, which would help me debug the problem.

I reinstalled the in drive C: instead of D: and it did confirm that it successfully installed. After closing and reopening VS Code, I am still getting this message.

"Unable to build: SDK not found. Ensure that a valid SDK is used for the build configuration."

Hi David,

I noticed that the SDK and toolchain are installed on different drives. The SDK appears to be on d:\ drive, and the toolchain on C:\ drive. Could you confirm whether you have a d:\ drive at all? Could you reinstall both the SDK and toolchain under the same root directory to see whether that resolves the issue?

Same error code for me. Fresh install on Windows 11. Installed vscode, then tried to install nRF Connect SDK.
