Thanks for the links, I will retry the FOTA process with the test files and see whether the output matches the documentation.
Will the files be officially hosted somewhere HTTP accessible by Nordic, as done for
http://firmware.nrfcloud.com/93m1/mfw_nrf93m1_update_from_1.4.1_to_1.5.0.bin ?

It is now possible to use nrfutil to upgrade the mfw on the nRF93.
