Thank you for reporting the issue. Currently, the solution here to get rid of the notification you are seeing is to update to v3.4.1. Can you please try to update and let us know if there are any further issues?

Current SDK and Toolchain v3.4.0 on windows

Pristine builds still have the pause and the opup on every run

Sequence is something like: Click build, the SDK update notification pops, pause for 5s with no change in UI, the build starts

No extra logs I can find until after the 5s pause (when the first west invocation occurs)

Hi Joshua,

I would recommend you to try a few things. Have you tried running a Pristine build from the Actions View? Can you also confirm whether you are using the same nRF Connect SDK and toolchain version? Are you seeing any notifications in the Details window under the Applications window?
