The softdevice I'm using is the S110 7 using the ble_app_proximity example, I have tried using the S130 2 ble_app_proximity and it worked as expected. What should I do to migrate my S110 code to S130?

Line 1166 in mainc. is device_manager_evt_handler(). So it seems the event result is not NRF_SUCCESS. What is it?

Into app_error_handler I got 0x00000088 error_code followed by a 0xDEADBEEF. I updated my question with the details.

Petter Myhre the error code I get from sd_ble_gap_sec_params_reply() is NRF_SUCCESS but the iPhone disconnects before it get there.

Debugging with Xcode, I got an error code 6 from the didDisconnectPeripheral function which means "The connection has timed out unexpectedly"

Have you tried to use the debugger? Are you getting into app_error_handler()? Could you check the returned error code of sd_ble_gap_sec_params_reply()? Have you bonded many times? Maybe try to do a full chip erase. Have you tried to sniff what is happening on air? You can use nRF Sniffer.

I think you need to replace all your BLE_GAP_CONN_SEC_MODE_SET_ENC_NO_MITM by BLE_GAP_CONN_SEC_MODE_SET_ENC_WITH_MITM
