Another item to consider is the other device you're using. If the two devices are nRF52, then once v4.2 Packet length extension is running you can use it.

Smartphones are another story. We did some testing and currently iOS doesn't support the packet length extension. You can see the information here

Both ends have to support the Packet Length extension to work.

Longer packet lengths are unfortunately not available in our SoftDevices yet, although it is planned for later.
