I would prefer something step-by-step. I have been able to use the precompiled example, but never my own code and copying/pasting the code does not work.

&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;m not sure what your definition of &amp;quot;from scratch&amp;quot; is, but I usually just start with the template examples from the SDK. There is a peripheral template which is a completely empty project and there is a BLE template which includes all the files you need to start creating BLE applications.
