You need to enable the notifications for DFU Packet Characteristic(1531 UUID) in the DFU Service (1530 UUID), in order to write to the control point. The device will disconnect automatically and will start advertising as DfuTarg with the DFU service UUID(1530). Connect, discover and enable notification, after which you can start the upload process.

For a successful DFU Characteristic write, after connection one needs to discover services, enable notifications and in the onDescriptorWrite callback the characteristic should be written and the BLE device will start advertising as DFU Target after disconnecting.

What where you doing wrong#? I'm getting the same error message (253) trying to write to a device. Noob at bluetooth so no idea whats wrong.
