Slightly off topic...but any way to stay on top of these releases? I have the blog RSS feed routed to my inbox, but I didn't see anything about the alpha SD. Is there a better way other than scouring the Nordic site every day?

An alpha release of the S132 supports new BLE 4.2 features, like the Long ATT MTU up to 512 bytes, see www.nordicsemi.com/.../56261

Note that the S132 v3 targets only the nRF52832, nRF52 DK and nRF52 Preview DK.

.. and the roadmap is that S132 alpha supporting long MTU and other 4.2 features was released today

well nordic probably has a roadmap but they have carefully not said any more than it's being worked on and will come one day.

Does anyone know when the increased MTU size introduced by Bluetooth 4.2 will be available for nrf52832?

No you cannot yet change the MTU on any of the softdevices.
