in my case it was a bug with the earlier versions of nrfjprog.

is this a problem related to the customized board or with the nRF52 DK itself? I was able to program the customized boards properly and suddenly it started to give the same error.

Support was able to send me a version of nrfjprog that was able to recover the boards.

I tried the solution on the first thread, but it didn't work. The second thread doesn't appear to have any solution just a log of the error. I'll file a support request on the mypage. Can you confirm that I don't need the pinreset in order to recover?

Hi. Can you please have look at these two threads. If you are still unable to solve the issue please create a support request on mypage. We have seen some similar reports and we are working on a solution.

The issue is fixed in Command-Line-Tools V9.0.0
