It seems that the original poster contacted Keil and got an updated version from them that solved it. See his comments on the accepted answer above.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet?

One interesting thing is that it only occurs for me when running Windows 7 in a VM on top of OS X. When I run Windows 7 on my PC laptop, I have no build problems.

Well I have Windows7 and keil worked perfectly before , I uninstall it and re-install , tried to add environment variable for W7 system , I searched a lot on google and always nothing , And I am not sure if it is a liker issue or a compiler , because the .o files doesn't exist onky for startup and retarget files ,

I had a long e-mail Conversion With the support team from Keil, but they couldn't solve the problem. I think Keil isn't stable on Windows8. Arne

I have the same problem , Keil used to work fine for long time but since I tried to make a new toolchain with eclipse and codesourcery bench , maybe I missed up something

I used the exact same version as you have. Have you tried re-installing and choosing "custom install path" (or similar), so that the installation is located in c:\nordic semiconductor? (default) Just in case that the SDK inside keil-path is somehow an older version of the SDK.

As you can se in the previouse response that the Project file is ziped. From the Kiel support, they wonder which MDK-ARM Tool Chain version you used. Arne

Hi Håkon I have started a thread on the Keil support site, but they have not been able to reproduce the error either. I have zipped the project tree. Hopefully it is enough to reproduce the error. (Or, do you need the Nordic Device database as well?) Regards Arne

I have updated to the same version that you are running, but I cannot reproduce this on my computer. Checking the KEil forums, it seems that there are other people that have this issue, but no obvious fix has been posted to any of the threads I looked at.

Can you please .zip the ble_app_hrs project so I can run it on my computer?

I also tried to make all files read/write-able from the Keil-root. But, the same result.

Hi,

Thats strange. It almost sounds like a write permission error?

Is the "_build" directory created? Does it hold any .o and .axf files?

What happens if you go to the start meny, right click on "Keil uVision 4" and choose "Run as administrator" and then open the project from within uVision?
