I'm fiddling around with the PCA10040 and the experimental_ble_app_blinky from the SDK found in examples/ble_peripheral/experimental_ble_app_blinky. I've had great success connecting through the nRF Blinky android app. The LED blink on the board

RE: Problem with BLE, web API and nRF52832

arne you may want to install BlueZ 5.41 as recent patch fixed some issues on Chromium for Linux.

RE: Problem with BLE, web API and nRF52832

Great that you got it working!

Regarding Linux and Web Bluetooth API please take a look at this site. There are a few steps that have to be taken to get it up and running:

Linux: Requires Kernel 3.19+ and BlueZ 5.40+ installed. Read How to get Chrome Web Bluetooth working on Linux.
Note that Bluetooth daemon needs to run with experimental interfaces: sudo /usr/sbin/bluetoothd -E
Make sure ControllerMode = dual in /etc/bluetooth/main.conf. See BlueZ 5.40 bug

RE: Problem with BLE, web API and nRF52832

This was exactly what I was looking for, and it worked perfectly on my android device!
We have just launched a Blinky web app example on GitHub which demonstrates the same functionality as the Android app. This seems to be exactly what you are asking for.

Please check it out and let me know if you encounter any problems.
