Can we use 8.08.90 J-LINK EDU for programming of Nrf52832 Chipset. Please also specify its limitation if it has any.
If we cannot use this then please specify another with less cost.

You may use the J-Link EDU for non profit educational purposes only! Non-profit educational purposes means that you may not use the J-Link EDU and its J-Link software.

- direct or indirect in or for a profit organization or business purposes or other undertaking intended for profit
- direct or indirect in any other commercial environment (e.g. office)
- to develop, debug, program or manufacturer a commercial product (or parts thereof)
- to use it to either earn money or reasonably anticipate the receipt of monetary gain from it.

If you are just going to program nRF chips (nRF51 or nRF52) I would recommend to buy nRF51 or nRF52 DK, this may be the cheapest alternative for J-Link debugger.

You can also buy programmers that support CMSIS-DAP.

Also take a look at this: devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../

RE: Nrf52832 Programmer

Dear sir,

I have designed a new board with NRF52832 containing some other circuits also so i cant use the SDK circuit for every board as it is our product & i was asking about the other programmer.
can you please tell cant i do programming with J-LINK EDU on my board. Can you please provide its Limitation.

If possible please specify some other cheap programmer.

The onboard (OB) debugger on the nRF5x-DK has some limitation which is:

Must be used to program nRF chipsets

Cannot be used in production programming

See here for more information about J-link OB.

RE: Nrf52832 Programmer

I think J-LINK EDU cannot be used for commercial purpose... If you use it for edu, it should be ok.

Here you have comparison - EDU has got the same capabilities as BASE version.

However, why don't you use nRF52-DK onboard segger? I think it has no such a legal limitations, nRF52-DK costs about 40$ (+ shipment probably) so it is cheaper than J-LINK EDU (about 50 euro i think?) and you get some nrf52832 chips with it...
