Hi Bill

Try to erase all build folders inside your project. It should normally go below 3MB when you have done that

At > 5MB, it doesn't seem to upload. I zipped the entire directory since it was best to make sure all was there intact. Is there an FTP server I could use for Nordic?

One of the most exceptional U.S. FAE's helped me by getting this ported and running with the gcc toolset! S130v2 with soft device s130_nrf51_2.0.0_softdevice.hex on the PCA20006. Zip attached.nRF51822 Beacon v1.1.0_s130v2.zip

@Bill Thanks for the clarification. Sorry for my misunderstanding. I dont think we have ported this yet to SDK 11.0.0, or any SDK more recent than SDK 7.1.0, sorry. Ill anyway ask around and reply back if I find out anything useful.

Hi Stefan, My mistake on the S132/S130, thank you for the correction. I understand the compatibility matrix, so that was not my question.

I specifically am looking for a 'port' of the Beacon Dev Kit firmware to the current tools, soft device and SDK. Currently, it uses the older Keil and softdevice 7.1.x. I do not want to try to figure out how to use the older tools and SDK and would also like the ability to use the nRF52 in the future.

Has anyone ported the Beacon Dev Kit firmware to current SDK and toolset?

Hi Bill

S132 softdevice is for nRF52, S130 is for nRF51.

Softdevice S132 2.0.x and SDK 11.0.0 work together on nRF51 third revision, see the nRF51 compatibility matrix. You can program the nRF51 on the beacon kit with new softdevice and application like any other nRF51 IC. You need however an adapter cable to program the beacon kit, and a programmer, but you can use nRF51-DK as a programmer, see this blog.
