I have a BLE Nano (nRF51822) and I want to develop an app which will find all BLE devices around (MAC addresses and RSSI) and send it by UART/SPI . I've used nRF sniffer firmware but it couldn't find Samsung Galaxy phones. There are no problems

RE: BLE Nano Scanner

Thanks, that's all I need to know.

RE: BLE Nano Scanner

Ok so as i was saying before - it is not problem with your scanner (central). It is just your smartphone that can't advertise (work as peripheral). BLE peripheral was introduced in Android marshmallow. I assume your sgs4 and 5 have some older Android, or just a version that cannot advertise anyway.

RE: BLE Nano Scanner

Hi, thanks for your reply. Samsung Galaxy S4. When I go to advertiser tab it says that this feature is not supported on your device. So I guess it is not possible to scan all BLE devices around, the fact that bluetooth is enabled is not enough to find them. I've tried it with Galaxy S5 and it was same result.

RE: BLE Nano Scanner

What Samsung Galaxy? How did you advertize? Advertising on BLE is only possible since Android 6.x.x AFAIK... I don't have galaxy anymore, but (on Xiaomi Mi5, with android 6.0.1) when i go to nRF Connect app (new name of nrf master control panel), go to "advertiser" tab, and turn it on -> it is seen by nordic devices...
