I'm trying to get data over the TX pin to be sent to the RX pin on a Raspberry Pi.
I have it working on several boards: The nrf51822 Development Board, the Redbear Labs BLE Nano ( http://redbearlab.com/blenano) , and the Adafruit Bluefruit

RE: TX Output from nRF51822

Great that you figured it out, and I am glad I could help.

You can check out this blogpost on RAM and ROM management, it is for an earlier SDK and SoftDevice, but is still valid. Only thing that differs is the amount of RAM/flash (ROM) the SoftDevice occupies. RAM/ROM size for the new SoftDevice you can see here.

RE: TX Output from nRF51822

Thank you very much Ole. The problem actually did end up being caused because of the difference in RAM. I needed to change the IRAM setting in the target options. I would love to see a more detailed explanation on how to figure out those settings.

Your suggestions on how to use the Debugger really helped a lot, in that I was able to figure out where the app was stopping. I've used debuggers before, but hadn't really started using it with Keil.

RE: TX Output from nRF51822

Also take a look at this: devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../

RE: TX Output from nRF51822

You go into debug by clicking:
Debug -> Start/Stop Debug Session
, or ctrl+F5. In debug mode you can start, stop, reset and step through the code (see under the same Debug tab where you started the session and the related icons on the toolbar). You add breakpoints in your code by clicking next to the line numbers (will add a red circle).

RE: TX Output from nRF51822

I'm using Keil with the development board to transfer the code to the other boards.

RE: TX Output from nRF51822

Which toolchain/IDE are you using to develop/download your code (GCC/eclipse, Keil, IAR, Segger Embedded Studio)?

RE: TX Output from nRF51822

I'm not sure how to go into debug mode.
You should go into debug mode and check what is going on. Is the program running at all or running as it should?
